"She is not afraid to try new ingredients and flavors that will please any palette."

Chef Alesha is a veteran military spouse, which afforded her and her family opportunities to travel extensively (including two tours to Japan). This is where she honed her skills in cooking and hospitality even more, allowing her to host dinner parties and other celebratory events while living overseas. Chef Alesha worked professionally in the banking industry for 16 years. During her tenure with the bank, she pursued her Culinary Arts degree. She also took various jobs and internships working for caterers (to include time served as a Catering Manager at Goodwin House, Inc.). She received her Bachelor of Arts in Culinary Management from Le Cordon Bleu. Chef Alesha is a member of the USPCA - United States Personal Chef Association, where she served as the Treasurer of the DC-Capital Chefs Chapter (2016 - 2022). In addition, she has taught Culinary Arts classes part-time, and worked (2) seasons as a Lead Line Cook in the NFL kitchen of the Washington Football team (now the Washington Commanders) in Ashburn, VA. In the Fall of 2023, she became a member of the Piedmont Culinary Guild, which is an organization of innovative chefs, farmers, food artisans, culinary educators, and other professionals in the Charlotte, NC area’s local food scene who are committed to sharing their strengths, resources, and promoting educational opportunities that help build the local food economy.

Her battle with breast cancer in 2017 has expanded her repertoire in culinary. With first-hand knowledge of what its like to lose your appetite and sense of taste due to the side effects from chemotherapy on the immune system, Chef Alesha understands how important it is for cancer patients to have balanced and nutritious meals…during treatment and beyond. Her desire is to not only educate the cancer patient but their caregivers as well on developing balanced meal plans that nourish and harness healing while going through cancer treatment.

Chef Alesha is a personal chef, breast cancer survivor, and author who recently moved from the DC-Metro area and now resides in the Charlotte, NC metro area. She is the owner of Silver Platter Cuisine, LLC where she enjoys preparing meals for her clients using fresh, quality ingredients. Her menus are influenced by a wide array of international cuisines and contemporary southern techniques (with an emphasis on healthy eating). She is not afraid to try new ingredients and flavors that will please any palette, which is why her natural gift and talent in cooking far exceeds her culinary training. Chef Alesha has had the privilege of cooking for a variety of clients…to include football players on the national and collegiate level.

Her culinary journey began through her Southern roots and exposure to foods and ingredients of the Coastal NC and Tidewater region of VA, while spending time with her beloved grandmothers in their kitchens. Meals from these visits included fresh seafood, farm-fresh meats and dairy products, and fresh from the garden fruits and vegetables (that on occasion were canned and preserved). Under their tutelage, Chef Alesha was taught the importance of eating seasonally and using top-quality food in order to extract the best flavor from her dishes.
